The Shih-Poo is a generally healthy designer dog breed. Although the genetic mix can sometimes result in winning the genetic lottery, a mixed dog breed can still be susceptible to health conditions common in one or both of the parent breeds in the cross.
In the case of Shih-Poos, some potential health conditions to be aware of include hip dysplasia, eye conditions, patellar luxation, von Willebrandโs disease, epilepsy, and Legg-Calve-Perthes. By talking with the breeder about the health and genetic history of the parents and asking to see any health clearances, you can allay several of these potential health concerns.

can someone help my parents say that we have a shih poo nut she doesn't act like the ones in the video as far as I understand she just sleeps all day on my moms bed and in the late afternoon she just plays for like 10 minutes then takes the toy somewhere else and then sleeps again anyone know how to make her more happy?

My shipoo is so hyper is i call her name while she is playing she will go boom! You will get scratch and get bitten xD
we adopted a 8yr old shipoo. bonded with her very quick and youโre right about being a great watch dog. barks at anyone approaching our yard but she doesnโt scare anyone lol

I've had my Shipoo for 14 years now and we have hiked and walked almost everyday no problem. He also loved to go to dog park and play fetch nonstop!! He has cataracts now in both eyes ๐ฅ I hate it cause he could still be playing fetch. Wish I could get his eyes fixed.
Very accurate , body weight and size will depend if then lean more on father poodle side(8 to 10 lb ) or mother shihtzu side (16-18lb) they dont run freely if you leave them in to open field as they try to stick besides you however he has very high physical stamina he can tirelessly run circles between two family members even if they are a football field apart

I have a shih poo there amazing his names rosco and yes they do get hurt easily but also are very brave I was holding him and he jumped out of my arms he cried then just walked away Iโve been very carefully ever since then but yes there brave and very playful he always wants to play so I stop what Iโm doing and play with him there a great bread and I couldnโt ask for a better bread
